First build, question about crankset

Background: Planning a 2000 Marin Bear Valley mtb with BBSHD kit and Mighty Mini 52v batt.
This will be a 5 mile commuter with steep hills on route.
The bike has a 9 cog rear cassette 11-32, and 3 chainrings up front 22/32/44
I've been reading the forum but still have a real amateur question...

Do I need to replace this entire crankset?
I realize I don't need 27 gears anymore...but can the 44t cog still be useable?

The HD takes specific rings that are held on by 5 bolts.

You can get 104 110 and 130 bcd adaptors for the bafang motors from california e bikes. That looks like a 110. You will not have an offset and your chain line will probably be challenged to lower gears. There are solutions to this. I like using the adaptors so i have immediate and a wide range of rings available. From my buckets of used bike parts.

That is a 104 bcd not 110.
