At the moment 6,500 'users' online and 6 members. How many of those 6,494 are actual people getting real information or considering participating? I would guess 94 would be a generous estimate so that leaves 6,400 various types of bots mostly not doing anything useful.

Sorry to hear.. It should not be doing that, it's set to basically never log someone out usually. Are you using a VPN or any kind of of extensions that might have some kind of weird effect?

I’ve seen forums get flooded even with basic spam filters because sellers rotate IPs, use disposable emails, and clear cookies between accounts. IP bans alone usually don’t do much. A mix of signup throttling, email verification, CAPTCHA on suspicious activity, and manual review works better. I’d also check whether the logout issue is tied to a VPN, privacy extension, or blocked cookies before blaming the forum software.

For larger communities, ShieldLabs ad fraud detection tools can help separate genuine visitors from automated or masked traffic, especially when VPNs and anti-detect browsers are involved. A risk score lets moderators review activity without automatically banning everyone.
