Re- Charging battery packs whilst touring

Hi all, I am in uk and hope to convert a cube ltd to electric.
Before I do have LOTS of questions.
My first ( actually I asked 5 on my hello to the forum) is, is there any set ups or plans to allow ebikes to charge.
My hope is possibly buy a jite or simmilar in France as a holliday home, I happen to live 5 miles from Portsmouth Hampshire, so will use the ebike to commute.
So for my commute and longer journeys it would be good to be able to re- charge.
    Thanks
    Rog

Are you taking about solar? Or just different types of chargers? There are some that have the standard computer power cord ports on them and many are 100-250v so different countries are not a problem. I have seen some that are only 120 or 240 so you may want to avoid those. You may also want a variable rate charger so if you are at a cafe or public spot waiting you can charge faster. Slower charges are generally thought to be easier on the battery so its nice to have the option to go slow if you have the time but fast if you don't.

For solar seems like I saw someone in the USA like maybe Bolton? talking about they were trying to develop a solar charger. Right now its not that efficient space or power wise because you are going though converters and inverters so they were trying to come up with a system that was more direct.

Cheers 73Eldo, regarding I am referring to the equivalent of charging an electric car when on a trip/ tour away from home ie a charge station.
my intention when life may be more stable to be touring France, where "maybe" a campsite may have means to re- charge the e- bike battery am aware of no other means.
Interesting that gradually over the world there are CAR charge stations poping up, unaware that there are simmilar for e-bikes or even e- motorbikes etc.
      Am I wrong in this.
If I was touring in a remote area " maybe" the only way to charge would be ask at a garage or " buy" a charge from a private residance

That is an interesting question. I don't know why some of the 3rd party car charging stations couldn't come up with something. Bikes would not take up much space or power so you would think they could just add a standard 'mains' plug on the side of the post with the car charger then just like the cars you have an account and an app on your phone to pay.

I have been using a 100 watt panel mounted to my bike for over 1 year. Also use another 160 watt mounted to a trailer for long trips. Works great. Luna batteries amd bbs02

I think you need to stay out of the sun, looking a bit over done there but hey as long as you are still out having fun!

I built a custom battery for my project, and in the process found a great little adjustable voltage regulator that can be fed with anywhere from 8-60 VDC, and puts out 10-120VDC at up to 15A. I matched that with a $15 48V/12.5A power supply, and it makes for a great charger.

The PSU is the size of a small book, and the regulator is about the size of a cigarette pack. For travel, you could keep things modular, so you could run the power supply from DC, or AC current.

That regulator thing sounds interesting especially that it can do 15 amps. There are quite a few sometimes literally regulator chips that can do that kind of range but not boost and certainly can't do 15 amps. Are they still available around the world? Seems like a handy gadget to just have around just in case.

The one I bought was packaged with a nice LCD screen and some direct controls. That version is no longer available, but the one below is.

That one is even bigger output, but they recommend extra cooling above 15A.
