Cyclone 3000w on Motoped

I'm converting my Motoped from gas to electric. I'd like to use the 3000w cyclone. I see on their company site that they have a counter clockwise version. Does Luna offer that or can the clockwise version be modified to work CCW?

I'm pretty sure it is reversible, since the reduction teeth are straight, instead of helical. You have to swap some of the wires around, and its a big help to have the watt-meter inline when trying to find the right combination. Some combinations will run in the direction you want, but will have a high no-load amp-draw. There is one right combo that runs either forward or reverse, (whichever you want) and and has a low no-load amp-draw. Be aware the particular shaft-mount that connects the freewheel to it might not be reversible...

There are three fat motor phase wires, and five skinny hall sensor wires. The red and black hall sensor wires are the power (5V positive and negative), and the three remaining wires are the signal to the controller to tell it when to fire-up which phase-group. If you open up the motor, the center hall (out of three) does not need its position in the firing order changed to reverse. However, the order of the hall sensor wires can be determined without opening up the motor, although I've been told it's pretty easy.

Thank you for the response. It appears that the cyclone is set up for 800 rpm at the output shaft which in turn has 14 teeth. Are those both correct bits of info?

Davidfoy, im thinking about the same thing... how has the build been going? any specs you care to share?
