    Advantages of Cycling Over Other Sports

    The main reason why cycling is favored by the public is that many of its advantages are unmatched by other sports. For example, cycling is a systemic aerobic exercise, which can effectively exercise the functions of human organs such as the brain and heart.

    1. A lot of exercise. Human muscles are mostly concentrated in the legs, and cycling is all about making the legs move continuously. In addition, we use our hands, wrists, and back muscles when cycling, which is equivalent to a full-body exercise that can increase calorie consumption.

    2. Free riding, more scenery. As long as the weather is fine, we can decide the destination of cycling according to our mood, unlike other sports such as swimming and basketball, which are limited by venue and time. So, cycling is a fairly free sport.

      They discovered that condition when ultra distance riders started breaking their hips in middle age. They had the same bone density problems as long term astronauts. So add some weight training into the mix.I suppose swimmers could get this also.
      One thing that is used for this are the vibrating platform exercisers.They're supposed to be good for bone density, but I had problems with my hips and had to give that up.

      A few different size dumbbells are all it takes to add some weight bearing exercise.
