Last I read, there was a long waiting list for those. They can't make enough. I saw a chain one that can lock to things further out that is bolt cutter proof and a pain to get it to sit still for grinding. Ill look it up as I can't find my link on it.

A magnesium chain that will be light weight, and catch fire if they grind it.
Of course the fire would destroy your bike too so cancel that idea.

Vulcan chain. That's the one. It sure aint cheap at 3 times the price of my bike, but it can wrap around stuff and its bolt cutter proof. My city is so bike unfrieldly that there are no bike racks at the grocery stores I go to. I would have to chain to the steel post that holds up the entrance awning. Litelok also has a similar offering to D1000 to give more purchase options. Side by side video shows they are both the kings of grinder resistance. But the chain is more usable and Ill post pics of my now installed frame lock. It is sweet and I got no excuse not to use it even when I just get off the seat to pick something up. Lotta thieves with the nerve to grab what you got as soon as you just turn your back. I got slugged in the head at Walmart before Xmas and went flying over my shopping cart. With people all around. Some black dude tried the one hit knockout on me to take my wallet. I wasn't knocked out, but was hopping mad. I chased him and he pulled a gun on me to stop me. And that's the way it goes. Now I'm looking for a chest holster. That way I can carry without being exposed after an attack like that. I probable would have lost my gun with my waist band holster. We got a smash and grab jungle out there and security stuff has to work in it.

I'm in one of the calmer parts of South FL. Just nitwit drivers mostly. My little brother used to ride Miami. Moved to Brooklyn NY because it's safer.
But one guy at the waterfront restaurant where I have lunch almost daily had 3 E bikes stolen in December. They came on his boat and took two at once with him there. They even steal motorcycles from the police here.Last edited by Retrorockit; 01-11-2023, 06:02 PM.

It says that the Ferosafe material is weldable. That tells me it melts and an acetylene cutting torch might defeat it. Then I read http://mwa-coatings.se/wp-content/up...ROBIDE-ENG.pdf its tungsten carbide of some sort so maybe not so easily.

Oh yea, bike is easy to grind in half. Lotta mean people might cut the bike if they cant have it whole. I saw a youtube of somebody making a super fancy glitter bomb and put it in merch boxes left on porches and in cars. It videos everything, GPS transmit location, then glitter bombs the area and squirts a pint of fart spray. The thieves go nuts. And the thieves learn quick. They spot glitter bombs and take other things instead. Same bunch of thieves over and over again. Getting bombed then learning. Its unreal how the occupational thief works. They just don't give up. They are back with a new trick really quick. Lots of times its a smash and grab and then strait to a fensing operation for quick cash. Or smash and grab and hidden in a location for observation. You being watched for tracker activity. Very dangerous situation being where thieves are near. And the car windows are smashed effertlessly. Leaving huge broken window bills. It's more costly to lock your car up than to leave it open for thieves to look in. And they target the trunk because that's where people keep the good stuff. And they operate quickly and in broad daylight.
It looks like they electric hack sawed that bike. Small medium and large hack spots till they got the spot they cut thru. But not all the way thru. They may have snapped their blade and bashed on the bike to get it to break in half.Last edited by stts; 6 hours ago.
