I just placed an order for a fat bike with the Bafang Ultra Drive from China. Specs as quoted:
1. Battery: 48V 17.5Ah LG Li-ion battery;
2. Motor: Mid drive system bafang motor MAX 48V 1000W;
3.Wheels: Spoked wheels;
4. Max. speed: 50+km/h; (31mph+, Mach 0.04 per conversion calcuator)
5. Range: 70km(pedal assistant);
6. Charging time: 5 hours, 100-240V smart charger;
7. Material: aluminum alloy;
8. Display: LCD48V Bafang brand;
9. Tire: 26"x4.0 KENDA tyre;
10.Rear derailleur outer 7 speed Shimano
11.Brake: F/R disc brake
12.add a front LED light and a set of fender
13. Front suspension only
$1,290
$ 150 sea freight to Chicago
$1,440
There will be additional fees once the bike gets to Chicago, will find out what they are when it gets here, as with the trike.
Photo is what bike is supposed to look like, black with white rims. If it turns out to be a good setup after testing it for a while, I am considering mounting lights & siren, then market it to police departments.
Here is page with a video of LEDs in use. Note the red/blue combo. Mount one on front, one rear. I figured out how to nearly replicate the aussie siren from Mad Max with a police lights android app and external weather proof speaker. The existing sirens for police bikes are all pathetically cheezy.

UPDATE - Supplier indicated bike will be 9 speed, not 7 speed.
