Rockshox Monarch Plus RC3 Debon Air fits nicely and was able to reuse the existing bushings and spacers from the stock shock. A noticeable improvement with this shock.

I have had an X1 for over a year now and I could not be happier. I think it is a great value and tons of fun.
I recently replaced my break pads due to horrible trumpet horn sound. With the new resin pads the trumpet horn break noise improved but did did not go away. I think i need a new rotor.

Question: Does anyone recommend a particular rear rotor for this bike? something bigger? 200mm? If so what would be a good one that would fit this bike.

I remove the X1 rear shock to have a look at the hardware used for the pivots
The stock shock is 200mm
There is a link you can reverse if you use a 210mm shock

Here's a shot of the hardware.

I received my long awaited X-1 ( Ludi/ silent) late last week. After putting it together I went on fairly tight steep trail that we ride. I was amazed at how much power that it had however the power wasn't as smooth as my BBSHD bike. I was in the lower gears in PAS 1 and 2 mostly and it kept shooting me into the weeds on either sides of the track. It felt to me as the powercame in late when it engaged it was too wild. Admittedly I had messed alot with the programming on my BBSHD and had it setup quite nicely. I'm kinda bummed that this one can't be tweaked to the extent that we're able to tailor the BBSHDs.
Have you messed with the programming of either of your bikes (firmware change?)

When I was checking the bike out this morning and fiddling witht the dropper post I felt a very slight clunk at one point and thought it might be the steering head bearings. Upon further investigation I found it to be the rear shock lower mount is sloppy on the mounting shaft/ bolt. Have you run into this on either of your X-1's? Is there a fix that you know of? I am thinking I'll either machine a new shaft or try to figure out a bush of some sort because I feel if I leave it like this it will only get worse over time as it wears.


When you received your latest witht he Galaxy paint did you get any toolkit or bling as with the previous one? Just curious as I didn't receive anything other than the bike and small parts. Wondering if I should hit them up or if the've stopped sending the goodies!

BTW....I find your videos and information to be VERY GOOD info. It seems as though you're a reasonable and rational person. Keep up the great input. Subscribed!

The M600 is quite powerful and jerky even in lower power settings already. With Ludi I would imagine its only going to be a lot worse. Not sure about the BBSHD. I'll get to ride one in a few months when I visit my dad down south. I've been riding a Specialized Turbo Levo for the last year. Then I hopped back on my M600 powered bike recently. (its been out of service while I waited for a Rohloff hub) My Gawd, can't believe how wild it is. Didn't notice it back when I got the bike because I was riding beaches and wide 2 lane trails. It was my first E-Bike. I wouldn't want to be on an M600, on technical climbs. Can't imagine LUDI on a mountain bike trail. Your description sounds about right.

Sorry, just now seeing this. I am not getting email notifications from the forum

Steep uphill pedaling requires smooth up and down pedal strokes. If you mash down you will get power. Pulling up and making round circles is why being clipped in is way better than flat pedals.
I don't have any issues going up steep climbs. Only when starting on a steep climb and your first pedal stroke is down and not as smooth as when you are already under way.

I did not get any extra bling with the Galaxy X1 like I did with the original X1
