I have my X1 dialed in really nice now
Carbon Wheel set and Carbon bars were installed recently.
The bike weight is now around 51 lbs and much easier to pick up

It handles way snappier now also because of the reduced rotational wheel weight

I Took the X1 out for a quickie ride today.
I flipped the new GoPro 8 black upside down this time and got a way better angle.
I think I could tilt it up just a bit more so the the bars are showing just at the very bottom of the frame.

I filmed two short sections of two trails
      Here's ride #1 on trail #1

And here is ride #2 on a different trail

The loss of 5 pounds of rotating mass would be huge on a lightweight application like the X1! I have done it on 125cc motorcycles with great success. I am very interested to see how your wheels hold up. How many spokes are in the carbon set you purchased? I see that most ebike rated stuff has over 30 spokes.

          The wheels have 28 spokes.
I spec'd heavier duty round spokes rather than the thin flat Sipim spokes I have on my two non Ebikes wheel sets

I don't expect to have an issues with the wheel set
This is my 4th carbon wheel set I have ordered from China
One of them is around 6 years old and has been beat hard on my mountain bike

PLus 3 other friends of mine have multiple wheel sets from China without any issues

          I weigh around 150 lbs
So the bike and me weigh around 200 pounds total

You have to think that there are 200+ lb guys riding carbon wheel sets and they do just fine :)

Beautiful weather here in the mountains of NC

For some reason you have to click twice on the video to get it to play

I have my GoPro Hero 8 Black dialed in pretty good now.
              Here's a ride I did on my X1 on 12/27/2019

The X1 Climbs stuff I have not been able to climb for 15+ years.
This video starts with a steep rocky-rooty climb

So what’s next for the weight loss program? Carbon crankset?

                    Na, all done.
I did carbon bars a while back and that was about all I wanted to do after the carbon wheel set
I ride with heels in and my X1 SRAM carbon cranks take a beating on my regular bikes

The crank arms on the X1 are beat to crap already from heel scrapes and pedal strikes

I ordered the same carbon wheels from your link. Thank you for that! How long did it take to get your wheels in? Mine already shipped but that’s all it says.

It was only 2 weeks or so I think?

What carbon bars did you go with? I’m thinking about getting some.

do you guys trust the CF wheelsets from Ali? My local bike shop has told me horror stories. I am a heavy guy at 250lbs, so i worry. What has been your honest experience?
