HI! I have the same exact bike, and here is my question..... bottom bracket.... 68mm..... IS IT A THREADED or PRESS FIT outfit? What exactly do I have to order for the BBSHD drive to install properly? Many thanks, Ron W

I really like your fenders. Can you please tell me who makes them and the model number and the size.

Nice ride you got going there. I think one of my nephews lives in that town, sounds familiar somehow. He works for Boeing. Have fun and be safe. Some cars still think you don't count for much since you're on a bike!

You might consider pulling the secondary reduction cover off this winter and do a "clean and re-grease". there have been a few instances where the factory did not adequately grease up the gears on the assembly line. Once you get some top-level synthetic grease in there in an adequate quantity, it should moderate the sounds.

Hello from Bellevue WA!
Hello there from Bellevue, WA outside of Seattle. I'm a long-time (read: the last 6 months) Luna-lurker and finally found the time and $$$$ to lay down for an e-bike kit! Everything arrived this past Friday, and over the weekend my bike became electric!! Now it is my e-commuting machine for my 13-miles-one-way, fairly hilly ride to work. I rode today for the first time, and it was a sweet ride over the I-90 bridge bike lane (as I flew by the car traffic backed up in the car lanes to my left).
Ok, here's the specs:
- 2016 Specialized Crosstrail Disc
- Frame size Medium
- Bafang BBS02, 48T
- 52V Shark, 14ah GA
- DPC-14 display, Gear sensor, etc...
I knew this thing would be easier than riding a bike, but MAN this thing is FAST!!! I'm also impressed at how much of a workout I still got, even with all the assistance. Very much still like a bike, just faster!
Ok, so one question for now:
- How loud is the motor supposed to sound? In the lower levels of PA its pretty quiet, but as I try out higher levels (or throttle) its definitely more noisy. I've seen the horror stories about melting some plastic gear inside, and don't want to do that. I made sure that I was shifting into easier gears for the hills to keep things spinning fast, and I checked the motor a few times to feel how warm it was, and it didn't seem too bad. I guess I'm hoping that its ok to use it in the more powerful (noisy) modes as long as my gear choice is appropriate?
