Welcome to the forum, please read how this forum operates

This forum is split into two parts: The regular forum and the Knowledge Base. Knowledge Base is the section nearest bottom of the main page.

Unlike the rest of the forum, the Knowledge Base is meant for answers, not questions.

In other words high quality documentation, walkthroughs, manuals, and guides.

All users are welcome to post any documentation on any topic in this section but if you post a new thread in Knowledge Base please make sure it is documentation. It is not the place to make new threads asking questions, that is what the rest of the forum is intended for.

Anyone is welcome to ask questions on any existing documentation thread if they need clarification. Comments may be cleaned up / moved later for the sake of appearance and keeping thread topical, and answers may be incorporated into the document.

If you have a question and are not sure where to post it, the general discussion is a good place.

Hi. New to this forum. Great opportunity to gather info. Will be building in next month. Picking frame and components to take to the deserts of Nevada and Arizona for a couple of months. Wonderful technology out there and it looks like wonderful opportunities to learn from this forum. I'm in.

Some forums will not allow members to answer noob questions if it's obvious they haven't done a proper site search or at least read the sticky. The admin may appear to be a prick but it may cut down a bit on the clutter.

I own a few Organic Transit ELF velomobiles, and am looking to source replacement 48v ebike 15aH (or larger) batteries and related components. The ELF uses a single Anderson SBS50 connector for the battery output side, and uses this same connection to trickle charge the battery via a roof-mounted solar panel wired into a Genasun Solar controller, as well as to recharge via a plug-in AC charger.

Might want to make a separate thread on this for an in-depth discussion, as typically a lithium pack has separate connection for charge and discharge and it would be dangerous to consistently charge through discharge instead of using the charge input.

In any case something like this would be suitable though you may need to change a few connectors so everything is compatible.

Hello. New to all this. Just purchased a BBSHD and having some engineering challenges. The main cable (all the yellow and single green lead) is too short. How do I get an extension for it?

Hello all, I've come upon this forum since researching how to do a e-conversion on my Tass Genesis Mountain bike. Currently thinking of the Bafang BBSHD Mid Drive Conversion Kit.

Hey folks, I am new to this forum. I am considering a DIY for my Dyno Moto Glide Kruiser. Can someone tell me if the BAFANG 1000 W BBSHD will mount to that bike. It looks like the lower bracket is 68mm. The shape of the triangle is curved, so i'm wondering if the curve will interfere with the drive and whether the Panasonic GA 17.5 AH battery is a good choice and will it mount in the triangle. There does not appear to be enough room on the seat post down tube part and the 45% tube has a bit of a curve in it. Any info would be great! Thanks!

Hi! You probably want to start here

For the battery make a cardboard mockup with the dimensions on the listing and see if it will fit. Be sure to leave room for clearance so you can put it in a bag. If the curve is very extreme you might want to put it in some sort of hard enclosure so it's not banging up against that curve all the time.

I build all of my bikes from the ground up. It's been my experience that EVERY batteries dimensions (Lunas included) are understated. Give yourself plenty of space. It's easier to fill a space with foam, then to HAMMER a battery in!

Hello, after riding a co-worker's bike I must say I am impressed. Of course a factory bike won't cut it as I want to haul gear up into the mountains and commute thru the winter months with it. This never-ending winter was a killer on the old knees. This forum looks like a great place to spit-ball and learn from before parting with the hard-earned buckaroos. Looking forward to my time here. Oops and I notice my first post is in a sticky, yikes,.

I just bought a KHS3000 with BBSHD installed by Luna. I work at Taos and this bike will handle the mountains I think.

                Hi all.

                Not done forums before...

If anyone can direct me to a thread dealing with BBS02B 750w 25amp 48v controller fitting into a BBS01B motor as a replacement, I'd appreciate it.

                Thanks

Hi, I`m a UK Newbie, pleased to make your aquaintance cousins. I have a genneral question about your Luna Double Geared Hub. I would like to fit it on a quadricycle I`m building but I will need reverse gear. Your system is probably a planetary gear system but will it work in reverse if I simply reverse the polarity fed to the motor by using a switch.

No that would not work sorry. You would need a direct drive hub

hi I just want to send out a red flag concerning the vruzend battery kit for making your own battery without soldering after placing a order and receiving it I realized won't be good enough for a high amp capacity battery so i wanted to return unopened package and they will not return so if you think its a good route to go make sure . the technology is changing s the kit chargers and bms are all kind of obsolete now at least in regards to a big battery build and I'm out money because they don't want to refund me
