New and about to start my build

Hello my name is Maurice Simpson and I have been lurking around here for about 6 months. I am ready to start my bbshd build.
I picked up a bullseye monster ltd frame some 60mm rims and some 3.5 inch street tires. I plan on using one of the steel Shimano cassettes.
I will be on the streets 99% of the time and am looking for around 30mph. I want to pedal as much as I can I am recovering from leg surgery.
I am trying to figure out what brakes to go with. I am about 240 pounds. I was thinking about Tektro dorado or something similar. I really would like Cura E but I am not sure I want to spend that much. Or what about modified standard brakes like Shimano XT. Any suggestions.

I am really looking forward to both the build and getting out there.

Welcome and you will love the bbshd. I think an ebike is such a great tool for getting the blood and joint juices flowing without over-stressing. I have found Shimano hydraulics to be very satisfactory. I keep my head on a swivel so not to get into too much trouble.

After the conclusion by theft of my love hate relationship with my Gary Fisher 29er cross bike and leg surgery I am here and ready. I have been lurking for awhile and planning and planning on paper, and finally I pulled the trigger. The first parts are in. I am starting from scratch so here we go. I placed an order on a T,hursday from Ridewill in Italy and by Monday the package had arrived. Talk about service.
Don't laugh, I always wanted a pair of these since those childhood bmx days. The were very well packed in a very complicated box

Of course I had to put them on a scale. Heavy but not ridiculously bad. They are 55mm

The next day my frame arrived. Amazon Gravity Bullseye monster ltd. 22"
It arrived in pretty good shape. There is a scratch on the top tube and of course the hanger is really bent. Fortunately the seller is sending a new hanger.

The next thing to make it was my cassette I went with Sunrace CSMS3. 11-42

Of course at this point I had to mock it up just to see...

Now on to the chainline calculations. I have been reading everything I can and getting a few tips from Luna and so I think I am going to go with the 120mm bbshd. My bottom bracket is approx 100mm and the rough distance to needed chainline is 25 mm. I figure if I go with 5mm shims on the left and 15 mm on the drive side I should be in the ballpark. Of course I know if will be different when I go to do it lol.
I'm getting close to running down to Luna. I want to have everything ready. Fortunately I am local.

Why go 120? If it's about chainline you can always use chainring spacers and longer chainring bolts to space it out. Usually the problem is having the chainring being too far outbound, not too far inbound. The exception being rare situations like belt drives. Also, 120mm is sold out

Only reason to go higher is if you have an intrusive chainstay but it looks like would probably be okay (measure to be sure)

I was under the impression that I would need the extra width for the wheel to clear the chainstay. If not then 100 it is .

Hold a ruler flat against the shell on the right hand side. From the very edge of the shell to where it touches the chainstay does it look like 1.5" or more?

This is kind of a shitty picture but may help illustrate the point. You want the measurement totally perpendicular with the shell, then see how far before it intersects the chainstay.

I'm getting close with the parts. Got my rear derailleur in. I went with XT 11 speed. Also got a Zee shifer. It looked a little funky like the box had been opened and hastily repacked. I hope there's nothing physically wrong.
