Something happened to the negative (-) side of my battery port. It's hard to tell exactly what's happening but it causes my battery to stick on the cradle and requires pounding with a mallet to remove. It would appear the hole has become mis-shapen and perhaps smaller in diameter. When attempting to put the battery back on the sled it will not go on the last 1/4 inch unless I really force it and then it becomes stuck again. I'm not sure if there is damage to the (-) prong on the sled but it seems there may be a small rough spot (really hard to tell).
Anyone ever experience anything like this? How screwed am i? Is this something I can repair? If I repair the battery port (somehow), can I still use this same sled? Any ideas as to what may have caused the port to melt?
Someone please help! It's my main mode of transport.
