bbs02 failing ·· broken gears, or clutch?

Over the past two weeks I've been hearing clicking, cracking noises coming from the motor. In the past few days there has been intermittent loss of traction, getting progressively worse until the motor spun with no traction. If I peddle in low gear, it eventually synchs or catches and will drive in high gear.

I had been thinking it's teeth breaking off the plastic gears but now I'm thinking it's the one-way clutch.

I'm going to have to fix this asap, as it's my only transportation. What do y'all think I should be ordering?

    Thanks in advance.

Note, I have 60T chainring with 18T cog, so torque can be high if I don't slide down the nuvinci ratio enough.

Oddly, today I noted very little of the problem described. I don't know if it's a temperature change or whatever debris was in the gearbox being ground to bits, but it's now engaging quite reliably and quietly. Weird.

Teeth would not grow back so its probably the clutch. If its that tore up I would be concerned about wear on the shaft so you would need the gear, jack shaft, and gasket set.

Looks like its called the pinion gear not the jack shaft.

Be aware that the roller clutch inside the gear needs very light grease, with no friction modifiers. Not the heavy synthetic grease the gears take. If it comes lubed leave it at that. Don't pack it full either, the rollers need to move some. It may just be the grease is getting hard.

It turns out that when I replaced the clutch, the old one was just fine. The real problem has to be the nylon reduction gear. When i cracked the core open, the rotor pulled right out of the stator. It's firmly attached to its bearings behind the nylon gear cover. It won't pull out and i can't get at one of the cover screws.
