    Can anyone ID this part?

    Possibly high wattage, low ohm resistor. Did you put a meter on it?

        Just speculating this is a blowed up controller. They may be 1 ohm 3 watt-J means 5% tolerance. You need to check for a short somewhere unless it was a momentary overload. Too bad radio shack is not around anymore. Are the capacitors puffed up on top?
        The FETs might be goners so yeah.

          Yes the capacitors were also blown, I can replace the capacitor easily as I can read the values of them, however the resistor is unreadable. How do I test the FETs?
