    Bbshd doa??

I am building my first ebike with a BBSHD and 52V Shark Pack from Luna and documenting it here: https://electricbike.com/forum/forum...-on-one-deedar

I am a decent bike mechanic but not too swift with the electricals. I have the motor, battery, harness, and controls installed (except for the brake cutout switches...I am using hydros and have not installed them yet). The battery came charged with about 54V as I recall, I have charged it up to 56V as indicated on my 52V Luna Advanced charger.

When I press the power button thing on the battery it shows one red and 3 green lights, then it goes dark when I let go of the button. Is that normal?

When I connect the battery to the motor nothing happens. The handlebar control (with the +/-) does nothing, the display does nothing (totally dead), the throttle does nothing. All connections seem good and none of the pins are bent or anything.

Do I need to activate this thing in some way? Not sure what I am missing.

Got it working after resetting all connections and a LONG press on the power button of the handlebar control (I swear I did that before!). Thanks for the tools and troubleshooting tips, I am sure they will come in handy.

Yeah that LONG press is very very long the first time you do it.. I remember having a sinking feeling the first time I tried to power up my bike.

Thanks for letting me know I am not alone, I was feeling pretty dumb.

Yes indeed, a very long press. Got me for the first five minutes too. Started sweating a bit....then thought, I bet they have a long press to keep us from accidentally turning it on when bumped.
