I was riding into town. A weekday afternoon. almost no traffic because everyone was still at work. I was going around a few curves in an area with sidewalks. No problem. But then I approached a side street, and with no oncoming traffic, and no car pulling out, I turned onto it. It had no sidewalk, and there was a pedestrian coming my way in the road. I swerved to miss him.
This is why I prefer 26" MTB to 29" for street use. 29ers are for running over things, 26" is better for for going around them.
Anyway just be aware when turning onto a street/alley with no sidewalk this can happen. I was watching for cars and got surprised by this.
