Data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reveals fatalities for one category was deadliest in the Sunshine State.
Florida’s roadways are the deadliest in America for cyclists.
"Additionally, the AAA study showed that 36 percent of Florida cyclists do not wear helmets",- Helmet is not required for motorcycles here either. The ones w/o helmets also don't have lights, reflectors, or bells/horns either.
"56 percent of bicyclists ride in traffic"- That's what your "supposed" to do. Kudos to the 44% who don't! AAA doesn't know this!
21 percent of bicyclists ride against traffic – three-fourths of whom said that they did so because they prefer being able to see approaching automobiles.About the same percentage as drivers who ignore lanes, signals and any other rules here.
