    Seem to have enough power/gearing and braking power but only so much traction. At some point the lack of tire traction is what limits the steepness of climb or descent.

    One thing I'm learning is that us big fat guy's probably realize a little better tire traction compared to small, lighter riders?

      Tire traction is very dependant on the tire compounds, tread pattern and pressure. Any or all three can drastically affect how your bike rides off road.

        Wow, that was some steep climbing. Regarding traction, I weigh 222 pounds with a 95 pound bike using 5.05" wide tires and I have never lost traction.
